Use soft play, climbers and slides over a cushioned play mat so landings are soft, and keep to the stated age range and maximum user weight. Anything that hangs or bears weight — an indoor swing, a ceiling climber, a doorway bar — must be fixed to a sound, load-bearing ceiling joist, lintel or structure with the correct fixings, never to plasterboard alone, because it carries a child's full dynamic weight. Assemble fully by an adult to the instructions and check the fixings regularly. Small parts and ball-pit balls can be a choking hazard for the very young — follow the age guidance on each item.
